Phil Collins concert in Stuttgart

My boyfriend bought for me a ticket to go to Phil Collins concert on June 5, 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany. In the beginning I did not want to go at all and I tried to convince him to sell it. I’ve tried with our friend Helmut who was going too with us to see if one of his friends wanted to buy it … no success…

After seeing Phil Collins coming with a walking stick I could not believe it. I thought he would be joking with us. He sat down in a chair and said: “I am going to be sitting, but it is not going to stop us to have fun”. I started liking him!

The location was great: Mercedes-Benz Arena Stuttgart ( Mercedesstraße 87, 70372 Stuttgart, Germany ). I’ve never been there, then I was impressed with the good organization and infra-structure for about 40.000 people this evening.

The concert really touched me and brought memories from my youth in the 80’s.

In the end I understood why I did not like to go to this concert. I thought I did not like Phil Collins, but it was not true. I realized that in the 80’s I used to like the musicians “performers” like Madonna and other who did visual effects on their shows. In resume I liked to see beautiful people on stage. Phil C. was not among those. But I remember his music and I liked his participation at the American series Miami Vice in the 80’s beside Don Johnson. Now as I have grown older I appreciate more and more the lyrics and not caring so much about how the musicians look like.
